GForge Advanced Server (available at GForge Group's website, http://gforgegroup.com) is a software development platform which integrates many tools. It takes care of setting up a UNIX environment with SCM (source code management) repositories, mailing lists, SSH access, etc.
It has a centralized tracker tool which allows bugs and tasks tracking. It also provides advanced customization features.
You can find the following tools:
- Document management
- Forums
- File release system
- CruiseControl interface: it provides an interface to CruiseControl's continuous build process. For example, whenever a build or an integration tests fails, it automatically opens an issue on GForge's tracker
- LDAP integration
- Mailing lists management
- Source code management: it has built-in support for several SCM backends, like CVS, SVN, Rational ClearCase and Perforce
- Wiki
It provides detailed reports and graphs on the status of individual projects. Also, it allows a complete control on permissions, you can enable or disable access to projects and resources to specific users.
GForge can be easily installed on the most popular Linux distros (Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE).
